Testimonials
“…I also gained clarity about the importance of “holding
true to my values’ in whatever I did in my life. I had always known
this but Sharol’s coaching validated this. This validation gave me the
extra boost that I needed to finally leave an unhealthy work environment and
a business partner who had opposing business values….
…I
have reclaimed my self worth, self respect, my confidence, my excitement, my
energy….
Thank you, Sharol, my friend, my coach, my guiding light…”

“My
Dad was a teacher and high school coach. My two boys have had numerous
athletic coaches as they grew-up. The word coach is an active and
upbeat concept. So, why do I need a coach? I need a coach to help
me be "nimble" in my thinking and choices in life. Sharol is my
coach. She keeps me open to my own power and options. She keeps
me honest to myself without forcing points. Sharol is a great coach
with energy, a keen eye and ear for my themes and patterns. I like her
gentle, astute focus on my natural good tendencies that I sometimes forget to
use and accentuate. I am glad Sharol is my coach and I know I won't be
coached forever, but for now she is helping me be the best I can be! We
walk this road together and it is good journey.”

“I was drifting aimlessly toward retirement (only a few years away) with no
plan in mind except having a fairly good financial picture. I was also
in a rut of boring daily life.
Then I was exposed coaching and worked with Sharol Tyra for several
months. She gave me the tools to look at the totality of my life now
and in the future and to become focused on what I needed to do and plan for
retirement. She also gave me the tools to get out of the rut I was in
and get started on doing things I said I wanted to do someday but never quite
got around to doing.
I now have a complete plan for retirement—where I will live, what types of
activities I will do and how I will provide for everything financially.
I have already taken several steps to make my life more enjoyable now.
I am no longer wishing I could retire tomorrow to change my life, I am gradually changing it on a regular basis.

“Coaching
taught me to clear away the clutter. With the clutter removed, I was
able to see the true beauty, challenges and gifts my life had to offer.
Investing time in yourself is one of the greatest

“I
am realizing and seeing more of what’s happening in my life, when I take that
place of observation. Life’s like sitting on a merry-go-round and
everything is a blur. The carousel of life is spinning and I not going
to fully focus until, I look down at what is right in front of me! Just
a lot of old habits that don’t serve me anymore. I’m tired of it
all. It just doesn’t work for me anymore. Observing is a good
start!”

“I
am discounting my own thoughts and beliefs and scared to face this blackness
and feeling hopeless and go to sadness rather than to face it. I don’t
have anger. I am discounting me. Anger is kind of like the
‘hello.’ I feel like this is the key so many other things!
Sharol, you shed light and open new areas for me.”

“Awakeness. I like that the past is gone. Why do I think,
I need to tote it all with me? I’m just (pause)
feels like a burden lifted off, I’ve been toting them, the past is
gone. I can grieve it. I can also feel relieved in saying it.
(pause) Some moments, I feel so free and it is so amazing. But, I
do get burden down by (pause) wishing, hurt, disappoint, change all my
relationships, I picture my mother crying, if I keep knowing that, that is
gone and I chose her to be gone, basically, I chose for my past life to be
gone! Yes, for mom to be gone. (pauses a few moments) This is strongest
I’ve been and the weakest [power in vulnerability]!”

“Sharol does not use a "one size fits all" approach, she

…I
have enjoyed our sessions immensely over the past four months and felt a lot
of personal growth through your guidance. …Sharol, working with you has been
such a joy and a blessing and your insights have been so enlightening to
me. I cannot thank you enough for how much you’ve helped me have a more
positive and less “victimized” (for lack of a better word, but I think you
get what I mean) perspective. You are a very talented coach and I will
certainly recommend you to others. Thank you from the very bottom of my
heart for all the help that you’ve given me! …It has been a joy and a
blessing working with you and I thank you so much
for taking me under your wing. It has been a most enlightening and
blessed journey!

“In only ONE session of coaching with Sharol, I hurdled at least 2 road
blocks in my life. I felt stuck in my career situation and quickly found the
tools I needed to break through the walls I had built around me. I also
realized that these walls were my own fear, and they had immobilized me.
My
marriage also needed healing. Again, rather than staying in a stuck position
which in this case was my own self-pity, I became pro-active. By the way, I
was not gaining anything from existing in these "stuck" positions
other than possibly developing physical symptoms such as ulcers and
fatigue. I learned with Sharol's guidance how to break through my own
resistances to move forward, that I am ultimately responsible for my own
destiny, and I have choices. Thank you Sharol.”

I
met Sharol Tyra at the Mind, Body and Life convention last year. She
offered personal coaching at the convention and I enjoyed what she had
to say & decided to contract with her starting in March 2004 to
present. I realize now that I chose a crucial time in my life to get
her help. I was at a cross roads and didn't know where to turn. I had
been in the same business for 15 years as an insurance agent & my
creative talents weren't being utilized there….I was emotionally fighting
with myself and it manifested into a health
problem. The mind is a fascinating thing. Sharol helped me
gain confidence and trust in myself. She helped me deal with
relationships and my marriage is stronger. I am looking forward to
a bright future that might have still have happened without her but it's taking me there at faster and at
a more certain and positive way.

I
worked consistently with Sharol over the past 10 months. My main goal was
to be proactive in restructuring my life in to what I want it to be a few
years down the road. I was just passing through a transition period
between separation and divorce, moving from mothering a young child to
parenting a teenager and wanting to examine where I had been to determine
where I wanted to go in the near future (less than 5 years ahead.)
Working
with Sharol forced me to really take a look at myself and how I dealt with
life issues and experiences. The most valuable parts of her coaching were the
exercises to look at my Values and the World of Possibilities charts. I
came away from sessions with Sharol feeling directed in a much more positive
way, no longer needed to seek approval/validation from others for my actions,
nor needing to let out my Drama Queen to be noticed. I now feel that I
am living MY life, according to MY values. There is a World of
Possibility out there and it is WITHIN ME!

I
started coaching with Sharol Tyra in April of 2001, and worked with her
through November 2004. Coaching with Sharol has made a huge impact on
my personal life and happiness. I started coaching feeling desperate,
unhappy, and unsure where to go in life. One of the first tasks we did was establish
my values. What a learning process! I was able to identify my values and
use them as touchstones for further growth. My values are my foundation,
and I have learned to trust my foundation and my inner self. I have
made big changes in my life…
Sharol has such wonderful coaching skills, she
brings out the best in me also. Our sessions felt magical, with growth
sometimes happening by tiny steps, and sometimes by leaps. I especially loved
the leaps, the tiny steps were hard work! But the
hard work has been absolutely worth it. I am so much happier and at peace
than I ever thought possible, and the future is yet to come! Thank you
Sharol!

My
nickname at work was “crabby.” I didn’t care for it, tried to get rid if it,
but for all my efforts, I failed and learned to get use to it. I was failing
at my marriage, my job didn’t interest me as much anymore, and on top of
that, I still procrastinated as I have been for as long as I can remember.
Through all this, I actually knew what was going on inside of me and I knew I
had to do something about it or continue to live a life of uncertainty,
boredom, and depression. I wanted someone to actually listen to me and help
me find my own answers to living a better lifestyle, before I went down the
toilet! So, I hired a coach. This was not me! Although I knew I needed help,
I had a hard time actually doing something about it. After all, what would my
friends and family think? Who cares! I wanted a better life, and by golly, I
was going to get it. After several coaching sessions, I realized I could
change my way of thinking and doing things.
After more sessions, I felt a sense of ease with projects, realizing I didn’t
need to worry if I would finish them, going to work was actually easier, and
a more positive attitude keeps me motivated. I make lists now of things I
need to accomplish rather then rely on memory. My procrastination is at an
all time low, and that is a huge weight off my shoulders! My marriage is
coming along slowly in a more positive direction. My wife says she can see
the change in me, and that makes me feel wonderful! I actually thought, the way I was living my earlier life was “just the way
it was.” My coach opened my eyes to what I had really wanted in my middle
ages, and what was possible. Success, aliveness, and a happy family life were
just a few at the top of my list. My list continues to grow and I now know I
will achieve them.

Successful
mid-life transitions
Coached women and men through change with bigger, quicker results.
Jack* had always wanted to own his own business. He struggled with his
different jobs over the years. He quietly decided to go-for-it, go for his childhood dream at 42 years of age. Jack and
his wife, mortgaged the house and lived in
simplicity. Jack noticed how overwhelmed and anxious he was becoming with the
responsibility of owning his business. Jack never doubted his courage and
that this was the right career move; however, he requested my coaching to
stay focused on his overall business plan as well as the daily situations.
Using coaching techniques and asking right-on-target questions, Jack focused
on his important goals, vented his range of emotions from elation to despair,
discovered his own wisdom, developed even more creative strategies, and
excelled further in his business opportunities. The results were larger than
life; he tapped into his own resources and became unstoppable in his whole
life, career and personal. You actually feel the experience of coaching!
Flourish
in promotional jobs
Coached clients tap into answers within themselves to gain their own
self-confidence.
Chris* sought a coach for she was unhappy in her job and felt un-rewarded
by her supervisor. Her strengths were not adequately utilized and she felt
she was picked on, consequently not feeling worthy of another better
situation. Chris lost her self-confidence and needed to regain her personal
strengths and rely on her wisdom. As Chris recognized the value of her own
contributions, and she knew it was not going to happen in the current
department. Together, we assessed the situation from all angles and I helped
Chris to see new job possibilities in the same organization. The results were
a promotional job that better utilized her skills, and management that
supports employees' strengths.
Accomplish
important business and personal goals
Used coaching principles and tools, to help clients
stay focused and accountable.
After getting fired, his 'triggering' event, Peter* spiraled downward
feeling depressed and angry for 5 months. When Peter was at the bottom, he
received a phone call from his friend, Mike. With the help of his friend,
Peter wanted to get his life back on track and began the coaching process.
Peter's specific goals were to 1) regain his momentum, 2) release the emotion
stress that Peter and his family are experiencing, and 3) reassess his values
to become clearer about possible leadership opportunities. Using coaching
principles, practical tools, and creativity, I coached Peter with his plan to
achieve his goals. As a result, Peter felt more alive, learned new skills,
expressed his creativity in his strategies, and he reached higher in his
career aspirations than he ever believed possible!
Improved
relationship, health, and personal issues
A Coach keeps us focused on what is important to us, revitalizes our
self-esteem, and helps us to stretch in our own self-awareness!
Suzanne* sought my help because she had not been able to overcome feelings
of emotional devastation and rage when a relationship ended. She wanted to
understand the issues that led to the separation and release the negative
feelings that were holding her back from enjoying even the simplest things in
life. Through our coaching sessions, Suzanne was able to recognize and accept
the full range of her feelings - the fear and shame that were masked by
anger, and to move through them to a greater self-acceptance. Suzanne faced
her vulnerability and was willing to open up to the possibilities to rekindle
a sense of aliveness in her life. Together, we celebrated the strong person
that was always inside of her! Suzanne regained her self-power and was able
to open up and find within herself the answers she sought that enabled her to
move forward with living.
Lead a
balanced and abundant life
With our ever-changing, increased pace of life comes stress and chaos. Coached and facilitated adolescents and young adults looking at
their personal and career life as a whole journey.
Mary* felt overwhelmed and frustrated constantly being pulled in so many
directions. She was tiring of having to be 'Supermom'
- cook, clean, shop, work, raise her children, care for her aging parents,
and deal with her own health issues. After seeing a brochure on the bulletin
board at church, Mary decided to try a sample session of coaching. Using a
values clarification exercise and the wheel of life tool, Mary began to set
priorities that made her and her family happy. Furthermore, she increasingly
relied on her inner wisdom and spirituality to make better decisions in the
midst of chaos. Mary exclaimed, an important turning
point for her was the realization that she is a whole person right now and
she was doing the best she could! She put the 'Supermom
Syndrome' in perspective, learned self-care techniques, asked for some
assistance from her family and friends, and felt more peaceful and fulfilled
in her day-to-day activities. With the help of my coaching, Mary began to see
her life from different angles and felt more grounded as she led a more
balanced career and personal life, based on her values.
Gaining
Perspective
Susan* hired a coach for she was unhappy in her life. She felt numb and
disillusioned in her nursing career. With compassion and coaching tools, I
coached Susan to focus on her values, fresh perspectives, process her
feelings, and align her goals with her life mission. Susan recognized the
value of her own contributions and once again, she heard her patients, peers,
and supervisors say "thank you!" By taking a breath of fresh air
provided by her Coach, Susan discovered that, in spite of all its
distractions and difficult challenges, nursing is still her most fulfilling
vocation.
